City of Lincoln Unveils New GIS Mapping Site

The City of Lincoln has made public their new GIS mapping site that is a joint venture between city and county agencies.  This replaces the map software you might have used when accessing the assessor's website.  A new, fun feature for the site is its integrated with Google Street View which gives you panamoric views from various positions along many streets.

Retail Sales Rise Unexpectedly in February

Retail sales showed an unexpected rise in February by 0.3 percent resulting from consumers braving the snowstorms to get out of the house and spend money at stores and restaurants. The Commerce Department noted this increase, the biggest since November, surpassed predictions of a 0.2 percent decline for February. Big discount stores such as Wal-Mart and general merchandise stores, a category that includes department stores, reported solid sales increases. He stated the job market is expected to grow later this year and with that the demand for office and warehouse space will improve. New Beginning for Trinity United Methodist

Trinity United Methodist held their last church service yesterday at their 100+ year old, historical church located on the corner of 16th and A Streets.  The congregation is preparing to move into their new building in the Village Gardens development at 56th and Pine Lake Road and will hold their first service next Sunday, March 7th.
